A rack and pinion is a type of linear actuator that comprises a pair of gears which convert rotational motion into linear motion.
The circular pinion engages teeth on a linear "gear" bar–the rack.
Rotational motion applied to the pinion will cause the rack to move to the side, up to the limit of its travel.
Rack & Pinion can provide a complete product including finished bores, keyways, ring grooves, milled features, integral shafts, and cluster gears.
Racks are available in both diametral and metric module pitches.
Rack & Pinion can provide a complete product including bored holes, turned and milled integral shafts, and drilled and tapped whole patterns. A variety of materials, metal finishes, and heat treat options are also available.
